I just did it on mine and I have been hearing of more and more K20 motors with the same issue. Appearantly from the factory honda does a shitty job adjusting the lash. I have been hearing the valves ticking since the day i got it. I have 50,000 miles and just put on a new head gasket. It seems like these motors have loose intake lash and tight exhaust lash. The exhaust is the one thats concerning me, it could eventually lead to a burnt valve.
Anyways, its a fairly straight forward check. pull the valve cover. use your jack and raise the front driver side wheel off the ground. put it in 4th or 5th gear. now you just have to turn the tire to rotate the motor over. the end of the cam is marked for what cylinder its at TDC. the specs are 0.21-0.25 mm inlet, 0.25-0.29 mm outlet. I adjusted to the tightest specs. Should have done the exhaust to the loosest spec, oh well next time.
Idle is a lot smoother now and the valve tick is gone, i just hear the injectors. I recommend all you Si guys to check yours. its only a 2 hour job but worth the reasurrance, hell i prolly got a couple of ponies out of it.
